Glenn Lowe - The Furniture Aesthetic.

My passion for timber started at a very young age and has grown through many experiences.

I studied Art and Industrial Arts at university and believe that furniture should be considered as art.

I have lived in Kiama for over 30 years and I have taught timber classes for 35 years, all the while I continue to appreciate the beauty that is inherent in this natural product. 
My desire to create beautiful things out of timber led me to come up with The Furniture Aesthetic.

My preferred timbers are ones that don’t need staining or modifying as I attempt to design items that allow the timber to show its beauty.

I prefer to use Australian hardwoods, however sometimes something different is needed.

Each item I design and make is determined by the timber I find. Some of the timber I use is salvaged, some recycled and some just draws me to its colours.
